休日、自転車に乗って川沿いを走るおやきさん。日除け帽子にリュックサックといういで立ち。おにぎりさんは一段下がった川べりの石に腰を下ろして「すし」の本に夢中になっている。おやきさんはおにぎりさんに気づかず通り過ぎていく。眼下の川には鴨たちが泳ぎ回り、近くの電線にはカラスやスズメ。日が当たるとトルコブルーに輝く瓦屋根の家。橙色の屋根はお総菜屋さん。散歩中の柴犬。奥に里山が見えている。今日はいい天気。鼻歌が止まらないおやきさんのリバーサイド・ホリデイ。

On a day off, Oyaki-san rides his bicycle along the river. He’s wearing a sun hat and a backpack. Onigiri-san sits on a stone on the riverbank, a few steps down, engrossed in a book about sushi. Oyaki-san passes by without noticing Onigiri-san. Ducks swim around in the river below, and crows and sparrows hang from the nearby electric wires. In the sunlight, a house with a tiled roof shines turquoise. The orange roof is a delicatessen. A Shiba-Inu is on a walk. Satoyama can be seen in the distance. It’s a nice day today. Oyaki-san can’t stop humming as he enjoys a riverside holiday.
