冬の大三角形（The Winter Triangle）・・・真冬の夜空に浮かぶのは、おやき座ーおにぎり座ーせいろ座を結ぶ大三角形。おやき、おにぎりは五穀豊穣の象徴として、また、「せいろ」は食べ物をふかし、再生するものとして古代から信仰の対象となってきた。その周りを取り囲むのは寿司桶の身とフタ、しゃもじ、うちわから成る「寿司桶座」、万物のエアレーションをつかさどる「おしゃもじ座」。カラス座は光と闇の配分を調整する係のカラス達が夕暮れ時に「ねぐら飛行」をする際の目印になっているという伝説による。はるか遠くに見えるのは、囲炉裏とほうろく（鉄鍋）からなる「囲炉裏星雲（Irori 89）」。

The Winter Triangle: In the midwinter night sky, a triangle connecting Oyaki, Onigiri, and Seiro appears. Oyaki and onigiri are symbols of bountiful harvests, and the “seiro” has been worshipped since ancient times as a device for steaming and revitalizing food. Surrounding them are the “Sushi Barrel Constellation,” which consists of the body and lid of a sushi barrel, a rice scoop, and a fan, and the “Rice Scoop,” which governs the aeration of all things. According to legend, the Corvus is a landmark for crows, who are responsible for adjusting the distribution of light and darkness, when they make their “roosting flight” at dusk. Visible in the far distance is the “Irori Nebula (Irori 89),” which consists of a hearth and a horoku (iron pot).
