すいかの傘

(1)今日も雨。おやきさんはお気に入りのスイカ柄の傘を持ってゴキゲンなようすで歩いている。もう片方の手には書類鞄を抱えている。そんなおやきさんを見守っているのは地面に咲いた一輪の花。(2)石につまづいて転んでしまったおやきさん。鞄は地面に落ち、傘は突風にあおられ飛んでいく。ひそかに慌てるお花。(3)どんどん遠くへ飛ばされていく傘。地面に倒れたまま、右手を傘のほうへ伸ばすおやきさん。助けになれず震えるお花。(4)なんとカラスさんが空を飛んでいたスイカの傘の取っ手を掴んでおやきさんのところまで持ってきてくれた。ありがとうカラスさん！手を合わせて感謝しているようすのおやきさん。お花もうれしそう。雨はいつの間にか止み、水たまりには青空が映っている。

English: (1) It’s raining again today. Oyaki-san is walking along in a good mood, holding her favorite watermelon-patterned umbrella. In the other hand she is holding a briefcase. A single flower blooming on the ground is watching over her. (2) Oyaki-san trips over a rock and falls. Her briefcase falls to the ground, and a gust of wind blows her umbrella away. The flower is secretly panicking. (3) The watermelon umbrella is blown further and further away. Still lying on the ground, Oyaki-san reaches out her right hand toward the umbrella. The flower is trembling, unable to help. (4) A crow somehow manages to grab the handle of the watermelon umbrella that was flying through the air and bring it to Oyaki-san. Thank you, Karasu(crow)-san! Oyaki-san clasps her hands in gratitude. The flower also looks happy. Before you know it, the rain has stopped, and the blue sky is reflected in the puddles.
