Four-panel comic; (Panel 1) Oyaki-san waves at a large Rottweiler-like dog. Oyaki: “Hello, Nana-chan!!” Nana: “Oh, Oyaki-san. What are you holding?”/ (Panel 2) Oyaki: “This? Kibi dango. Want to try some?” Nana: “The one that makes you have to go slay demons if you eat it? Especially if you are a dog.*” (Panel 3) The two are sitting side by side at a table covered with a checked tablecloth. Oyaki: “Haha! They say we’re not in those days anymore! So, what kind of times are we in? Here you go,” he says, placing a plate full of kibi dango in front of Nana. Nana (with a calm expression): “You’re right. It would be impossible in terms of compliance.” (Panel 4) Oyaki: “By the way, the tempura I had in Onigashima was amazing. I want to go again.” “What kind of tempura?” “Spiny lobster.” “Oh, that sounds special! I wanna go too!” / Goal for next year written in the margin: “Let’s go to Onigashima with everyone next year.”

*Note; This manga is partially a parody of the Japanese folktale “Momotaro(Peach Boy).” “Momotaro” is a well-known Japanese folktale tells of an elderly childless couple who find a peach floating on a river. The peach contains a baby boy who grows up to conquer the Oni (ogre or demon) of Onigashima(Oni’s Island) aided by a dog, monkey, and pheasant he befriends with Kibi-dango (millet dumplings).
