溺れる河童　～ Drowning Kappa

（1）今日も今日とて町内会の～ゴーミーひろい～だよ～アーヨイヨイ・・・「ゴミ拾いの歌」を歌いながら掃除をするおやきさんとおにぎりさん。（2）川の中に友達のカッパさんをみつけたふたり。おやき：あっ、カッパさんだ！/おにぎり：ヤッホー！！（3）流されていくカッパさんを見て焦る二人。/おやき：あれ…もしかして、溺れてる!!?/おにぎり：助けなきゃ!!!　（4）両手を上げ、「とおーッ！！」という掛け声とともにジャンプするおやきさんとおにぎりさん。
（5）どぼーん！と頭から川に落ちるおやきさん。おにぎりさんは一回転して脚からザブーンと飛び込む。グアッと驚いたのは鴨。（6）ゴボゴボッ（カッパさーん）・・・水中でカッパに手を伸ばすおやきさんとおにぎりさん。（7）カッパさんの脇を抱え、川岸に持ち上げるおやきさんとおにぎりさん。おにぎり：せーの！/おやき：カッパさん、大丈夫！？/　現場に駆けつけるカラスと蛙。　（8）陸に上がったカッパ。右手でアタマをかきながら、「ゴ、ゴメン、『河童の川流れ』の練習してたんだ」と謝る。ズコッとコケたおにぎりさんとおやきさんは二人とも頭から川に落下。蛙もコケ、カラスはバッサリ倒れる。/おわり

※補足：川に棲む河童は泳ぎが得意。「河童の川流れ」はどんな名人でも失敗することがあるという意味のことわざ。

(1) Today is another day of our Chonaikai(neighborhood association)’s “cleaning day” – Ah-yoi-yoi… Oyaki-san and Onigiri-san are cleaning while singing the “garbage-picking song.” (2) The two find their friend Kappa-san in the river. Oyaki: Ah, it’s Kappa-san! / Onigiri: Yaa-hoo!! (3) The two panic when they see Kappa-san being swept away. / Oyaki: Hmm… Maybe he’s drowning!!? / Onigiri: We have to help him!!! (4) Oyaki-san and Onigiri-san raise their arms and jump while shouting “Too!!”

(5) Splash! Oyaki-san falls headfirst into the river. Onigiri-san spins around and dives leg-first. The duck is shocked. (6) Gurgle (Kappa-san)… Oyaki-san and Onigiri-san reach out to the Kappa in the water. (7) Oyaki-san and Onigiri-san hold Kappa-san’s arms and lift him onto the riverbank. Onigiri: Ready, go! / Oyaki: Kappa-san, are you OK? / The crow and the frog rush to his rescue. (8) The kappa gets up onto land. Scratching his head with his right hand, he apologizes, “Sorry, I was practicing ‘The Kappa Flows Down the River'” Onigiri and Oyaki both fall headfirst into the river. The frog also falls, and the crow falls flat. / The end

*Note: The Kappa tribe, who live in rivers, are good swimmers. “The Kappa Flows Down the River” is a japanese proverb that means that even the most skilled swimmers can fail.
