新刊と古書を扱うシロヤギ書店。大判の本を一冊抱えたおにぎりさんが、シロヤギ書店のレジに向かう。レジではニット帽をかぶった丸眼鏡のシロヤギさんが待っている。
おにぎり：「こんにちは！シロヤギさん、この本おいくらですか？」
シロヤギ：「やあ、おにぎりちゃん。それ？1500円だけど、1000円でいいよ」

おにぎり：感動した表情で：「えっ？ほんとに？いいの！？」
（本のタイトルは 『すし～BOOK OF SUSHI』）
シロヤギ：「いつもたくさん買ってもらってるからね」

おにぎりさん、「ありがとう！」と言って財布の中身を振り落とす。ガマ口から飛び出てきたのは、500円硬貨1枚の他に銭湯の回数券と、どこかのお店のレシート。
おにぎり：「あっ、500円しかない！」

「シロヤギさん、ちょっと待ってて！！」と叫ぶやいなや、書店の外に飛び出し、猛スピードで「おにぎりダッシュ」するおにぎりさん。あまりのスピードにひっくり返るカラスと逃げ出すネズミ。
シロヤギさんはお店の前で「おーい、ツケでいいよー」と叫ぶが、おにぎりさんにはもう届かない。

地面に落ちていたチラシを拾ったおにぎりさん。「おっと！！こりゃ何だ？」「お金貸します－夢銀行？」
どうやら”夢銀行”がお金を貸してくれるらしい。

「助かった！」・・・ちらしを持ってダッシュで夢銀行に向かうおにぎりさん。

夢銀行に到着したおにぎりさん。カウンターに両手をつき、息を切らせながら、「あの！こちらでお金借りられるんですか？」と尋ねる。
窓口にいるのは眼鏡をかけた銀行員のバク。「いらっしゃいませ。ええ、お貸ししますよ」

バク：（チラシを受け取りながら）「そのかわり、あなた様の”夢”をお預かりします」
おにぎり：「夢！？」
バク：「ま、どうぞおかけになって」
⑨
カウンターをはさんで向き合う銀行員とおにぎりさん。バクはノートパソコンにおにぎりさんの答えを入力してゆく。おにぎりさんの後ろではカラスが様子を見守っている。

バク：「あなた様の夢は？」
おにぎり：「おすしになること！」
バク：「なんと！！そ、それはいつ頃からの夢なので？」
おにぎり：「う～んと～、、、気がついた時から？」

バクの銀行員、震えながらパソコン画面をくるりとおにぎりさんの方に向ける。「し、史上最高の査定額です！」
パソコンには「十億円」の査定結果が！
ひっくり返るおにぎりさんとカラス。どっひゃあ！

画面中央には「おすしになりたい　オニギリ」という願い事が書かれた絵馬のイメージ。
バク：そちらの夢でしたら、すぐに１０億円の小切手と交換しましょう。お金は返さなくていいんですよ！！

バク：「夢を手放せば」 「一生遊んで暮らせるのです」

小切手を初めて見たおにぎりさんは戸惑いを隠せない。
おにぎり：（う～ん、じゅうおくえんかあ）
バク：「フフ、悩みますよね。夢か、お金か・・・」

おにぎり：（宙を見上げながら不安の表情）（これであの本売ってくれるかなぁ）
バク：「夢なんて、食べられませんからね。獏以外は・・・」

おにぎりさんは椅子から飛び降り、小切手をバクに返す。
「やっぱいいです！！」
「シロヤギ書店は”現金のみ”なの！！」
ズコッと大ごけするバクさん。

「そうだ！おふろやさんなら小銭ありそう！」
銭湯「桃の湯」に向かってダッシュするおにぎりさん。
「ももちゃーん、５００円貸ーしーてー」
おにぎりさんを見ているのは猫のぽんちゃん。

English Descriptions

①

Shiroyagi(white goat) Bookstore deals in new and used books. Onigiri-san, carrying a large book, heads to the cash register at this bookstore. Shiroyagi-san, wearing a knit cap and round glasses, is waiting at the register. There is a sign under the cash register saying, “We are short on 500 yen coins.”

Onigiri: “Hello! Shiroyagi-san, how much is this book?”

Shiroyagi: “Hey Onigiri-chan. That’s 1500 yen, but 1000 yen is fine.”

Onigiri: With an impressed look on her face: “What? Really? Are you sure?”

(The book is called “BOOK OF SUSHI”)

Shiroyagi: “Sure, you are a regular customer after all.”

“Thank you!” says Onigiri-san, shaking out the contents of the wallet. What came out of the slot was a 500 yen coin, public bath tickets, and a receipt from another store.

Onigiri: “Ah, I only have 500 yen!”

“Shiroyagi-san, wait a minute please!!”

Onigiri-san leaps out of the bookstore and makes an “Onigiri Dash” at breakneck speed. She’s so fast that the crow flips over and the mouse runs away.

In front of the store, Shiroyagi-san shouts, “Hey, it’s OK!!” but it was a bit too late to reach Onigiri-san.

Onigiri-san picked up a flyer that had fallen on the ground. “Oh! What’s this?” “We’ll lend you money. Dream Bank?”

It seems that the “Dream Bank” will lend you money.

“Thank goodness!” … Onigiri-san dashes off to the Dream Bank with the flyer in hand.

Onigiri-san arrives at the Dream Bank. With both hands on the counter and out of breath, Onigiri-san asks, “Um! Can I borrow money here?”

At the counter is Baku, a banker wearing glasses looking like a tapir. “Welcome. Yes, We’ll lend you some.”

Baku: (Taking the flyer) “In exchange, We’ll keep your ‘dream’ as a pledge.”

Onigiri: “Dream!?”

Baku: “Well, please have a seat.”

 The banker and Onigiri-san face each other across the counter. Baku types Onigiri-san’s answers into his laptop. Behind Onigiri-san, a crow is watching them.

Baku: “What is your dream?”

Onigiri: “To become SUSHI!!”

Baku: “Wow! Since when has that been your dream?”

Onigiri: “Well, since I realized…”

Baku trembles as he turns the computer screen towards Onigiri-san. “It’s the highest valuation in history!” The computer shows the valuation result of “1 billion yen”!  Onigiri-san and the crow flip over. “Whoops! “

 In the center of the screen is an image of a votive plaque with the wish “I want to become sushi” written on it.

Baku: If that’s your dream, then let’s exchange it for a check for 1 billion yen right away. You don’t have to pay the money back!!

Baku: “If you let go of your dreams,” “you can have fun for the rest of your life.”

Onigiri-san has never seen a check before and can’tt hide her confusion.

Onigiri: (Hmm, one, bi-lli-on, yen?)

Baku: “Haha, it’s a difficult choice. Dreams or money…”

 Onigiri-san jumps off her chair and hands the check back to Baku.

“Sorry, I don’t need it after all!!” “Shiroyagi Bookstore accepts CASH ONLY!!”

Baku falls over with a thud.

“That’s right! There should be some coins at the bathhouse!”

Onigiri-san dashes off to the Momo no Yu public bath.

“Momo-chan, lend me 500 yen!”

The cat Pon-chan is looking at Onigiri-san.
