おやきさんが読んでいるのは歴史ファンタジー小説『アー王朝物語』シリーズで、四年ぶりに発売された続編。三部作に分かれる長編の人気小説で、ドラマ化された時にはブームに火がつき、社会現象になった。ブックカフェに通って王朝シリーズを読むおやきさんは、間隔を空けるとストーリーを忘れてしまうためなかなか読み終わらない。それでも毎回同じ所で感動を味わっており、ある意味では真の読者と、言えなくもないのである。

The novel Oyaki-san is reading is the historical fantasy series “Tales of the Ah Dynasty,” the sequel to which has been released after four years. It is a popular long novel divided into a trilogy, and when it was made into a TV drama, it sparked a boom and became a social phenomenon. Oyaki-san frequents the book cafe to read the Dynasty series, but forgets the story if he takes a break, so he never finishes it. Even so, he is always moved by the same parts, and in a sense, he can be called a true reader.
